My desire as an artist is to capture a bit of the magic I feel when I witness an extraordinary moment. I typically use bold color and texture in this quest to translate the play of light and movement.

Since moving back to the Bay Area a few years ago I've been immersed in the many moods of the sea and sky that surround me. I find power and peace in the rhythm of the sea, and hope and transcendence in the splendor of sunsets. I'm in awe of the ever-changing beauty and wonder of nature and the deep feelings it evokes. Interpreting what I see and what I feel is an ongoing journey which stylistically has taken me from roots in post impressionism towards simplification, a more simplified representation that borders on abstraction.
