My goal is to create a meaningful connection with nature; the forces that are out of our control and an exploration of organic, spontaneous forms and cycles that are both generative and destructive.  My current work is often done outside on large canvas, painting on the ground overlooking the Pacific Ocean. My kinesthetic response creates the composition and represents a meditation on the relationship between land and sea: the wind, rain, waves, leaves, grass, sand, and dirt often become a part of the art. I'm inspired to capture the emotion of a place through texture of a brushstroke, layering and movement of the paint.
