Over decades, Leslie Allen’s paintings have evolved from tightly rendered still life and landscapes in watercolor, to fiercely expressive abstract and figurative paintings in oil and mixed media. Leslie also teaches drawing, collage and printmaking techniques in her studio, and credits Richard Diebenkorn, Henri Matisse, Joan Mitchell, Pablo Picasso, and especially Chester Arnold for her painting styles and tenacity. She believes she will forever be an art and music student, and loves playing cello with the College of Marin Symphony Orchestra. Leslie manages dual careers as an exhibiting artist and paralegal, and finds the challenging mental shifts to be invigorating.
