Born and raised in Hong Kong, my first love was dance. In college I was deeply intrigued by the social sciences, but subsequently earned an MFA and enjoyed a career in modern dance as a teacher, choreographer and performer. Nonetheless, those earlier immersions shaped and are part and parcel of my being. Curiosity about diverse cultures and the many forms by which human aspiration can be expressed – through art, writing, music, theater, dance – is at the core of my definition of Living.

My training in art/painting (as well as in dance) was classical. I choose to paint in a realistic style because I find it gives me infinite room to express my joy and wonder in the world around us. The mundane and the magnificent literally exist side by side; to me, they are both worthy of celebration.

My paintings, many of which are in private collections, have won awards in national and regional exhibitions. I have been featured in publications such as Artists Magazine, AARP the Magazine, and several books on painting. There is no shortage of subjects I want to paint. I also enjoy working on commissions. Please come and see me and what I do in my studio.
